PROJECTS

1. Providing Psychosocial First Aid (PFA) During Emergencies
In response to emergency situations in Malawi, particularly in Naungu Village, TA Sitola, Machinga District, we have been actively offering Psychosocial First Aid (PFA) support. Our team has visited affected homes by Cyclone Freedy, identifying critical issues and addressing severe psychosocial consequences. While the destruction of homes is visible, emotional wounds often take longer to heal. Malawi Children Project follows structured protection intervention guidelines to ensure psychosocial support helps speed up recovery, prevents future issues, and mitigates negative coping mechanisms. Through our program, individuals learn to process loss and rebuild their lives positively.

2. Supporting Community-Based Childcare Centers (CBCCs)
We currently operate four community-based childcare centers (CBCCs) under St. Joseph Roman Catholic in TA Sitola at Naungu. These centers provide early childhood development (ECD) opportunities for children under five years old. Our program covers:
* Child development, play, and early learning
*  Provision of educational materials and equipment
*  Learning through play and structuring learning environments
*  Child health, hygiene, nutrition, and overall care
*  Support for children with special needs
*  Management and partnership-building for ECD centers

3. Vitamin A Supplementation and Deworming
We administer high doses of Vitamin A supplementation to children under five years old and conduct deworming campaigns to improve child health and prevent malnutrition-related diseases. These interventions contribute to stronger immunity and overall well-being.

4. Providing Prenatal Vitamins to Pregnant and Lactating Mothers
Our initiative extends support to pregnant and lactating women by providing essential prenatal vitamins. This intervention improves maternal health and ensures that newborns receive the necessary nutrients for a healthy start in life.
